Photo Folio Flip Instructions

To make the base of this Folio you will need plain cardstock and matching designer paper of your choice.  Dovecrafts  Blooming Lovely Collection and yellow cardstock has been used this time.  The photo above shows it made with white cardstock and the First Edition Sweet Nothings paper pad as it has cut apart sheets that I used for some of the decoration.

The Cover

Cut two pieces measuring 5 3/4" x 11" and score on the long side at 5 1/4" and 5 3/4" to create the spines.  Turn both pieces with the inside facing you and  stick the front of one to the back of the other to make a tri-fold.

The mats for these measure 5" x 5 1/2".  You will need six, three for the front and 3 for the inside.

The Pockets

You will need to cut 3 of these, measuring 5 3/4" x 2 1/2" then scored 1/2" on three sides.  Cut notches on the two corners so you can fold the sides in neatly.
The mats for these are 4 1/2" x 1 3/4".
Tape on 3 sides and stick inside on the two flaps and the middle piece leaving an even gap around three sides.

The Flip Flaps

You will need to cut six of these measuring 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" and score 1/2" on one long side.  Using tape or glue fold and adhere one piece to the top of the inside flap leaving an even gap around 3 sides as with the pocket placement.

For the next flap, fold the score line and butt it up to the bottom of the flap, the next flap will then go under the previous flap.  Repeat for the opposite side.

The mats for the flaps are 4 1/2"x2 3/4" and you will need twelve.

Pocket Inserts

Cut one piece that measures 4 1/2" x 5" and two pieces measuring 4 1/2" x 3 1/4"

To make the tabs use your envelope punch board place the edge of the largest insert so the edge of the card shows through the gap and butts up against the blue piece of plastic and punch, move the board along so the outside edge of the card is lined up with the 2 1/4" mark and punch again, cut away the excess this has now completed this insert.

For the other two inserts do the same except when lining the outside edge for your second punch you need to line it up to the 2" mark.  To make sure the the tab is on the opposite side on the second insert, just turn it over and repeat the instructions for the last insert.
The mat for the large card measures 4 1/4" x 4 3/8" the two at 4 1/4" x 2 5/8"

I have cut matching strips of paper for the spines and the under sides of the flaps to blend in with the papers used on the backgrounds.

All that's left to do is decorate and put fill with all your lovely memories.  There are lots of places for photos and journaling, perhaps it could be used for a weekend away or a particular special event.

I hope you enjoy making these yourself.  I would love to know how you get on.  If you have photos of  your creations, please upload them to my Facebook group  Jo's Crafty Pad.

Have lots of fun and happy crafting

Photo Flip Folio

For this photo folio flip I have used the stunning papers in the First Edition Sweet Nothings 8x8 pad

The front cover has been decorated using the cut apart sheet in the pad, handmade flowers and die cut double butterfly on a clip to close the flip.

This is a tri-fold design with six double sided flips for photos and journaling, also three pockets to hold tab top mats for more photos, tickets and other memorabilia.

This project is ideal to capture the memories of a special day or trip and is easily made to capture special memories quickly and less daunting than a 12 x 12 page or a large album.

If you are interested in re-creating this project, I have a kit available on my website (Jo Price Designs) with everything you will need minus adhesives and plain cardstock for the base. The kit also has lots of extra handmade embellishments for other projects or to add to your folio.

New Papers, Dress and Word Dies

We have recently added new dies and papers to the Jo Price Designs website.  The papers are 6x6, one in solid colours, ideal for matting and layering and the other is a very shabby chic design.

This pad contains 36 sheets of quality papers that are 170gsm heavyweight cardstock.  Each pad contains 12 patterns.

As you can see there are 6 sets of two sheets in a matching design.

The Romantic Summer pad contains 36 sheets, 9 designs of  flat colour, 170gsm heavy weight cardstock.  Ideal for all the summer photos we will be taking if you are a scrapbooker, a  journaler or any craft projects.

Now for the dies, I have been wanting to get something like this in for a long time and I have finally found them.  Sweet Dixie make these dies and they are great, well made dies to use.  I have given them a good bashing as I love die cutting, so everything gets a really good test.

These are substantial dies to add to your collection, the dress measures nearly 13cm long and nearly 8cm wide.  Believe and Dream are both approx. 10cm x 5cm.  The Love die is approx. 8 x 6cm.

Here are a few cards that I made using these dies and papers.

For this card I've used the pink set of papers in the shabby chic paper pad. Using plain pink cardstock for the sash and Dream die cut, (which have been glittered with Diamond Stickles). The Dress die has also been backed with the same plain pink cardstock to show the cut out detail.  I added lots of pearls and white lace trim.

For this card I used several paper pads.  The map backing paper is from Sweet Paris and others from The Promise, Christmas Promise.

Sweet Paris again has been used for this card.  All the cards were made using cream 6x6 card blanks.

I hope you like these cards.  I would love to hear your comments they mean so much to me and keep me motivated to keep creating projects for you.  Also subscribe to you will be notified as soon as I post.

For All Those Special Fathers Out There

I am a bit late in getting this post out as next weekend is Fathers Day and if you haven't already made your Dad his special card then here are a few ideas.

These two cards were made using the Fathers Day Card Kit available at Jo Price Designs website, there is a special section dedicated to this in the list on the left hand side of the home page.  You will find lots of products suited to projects for your Dad or any other male in your life.

The kit contains:
4 6x6 papers, 2 cards and envelopes, Tie template, Clear Stamp, Pack of die cuts.
Paper designs may vary in each pack, but all are from Wild at Heart Paper Pad.

This was a real blast from the past.  I was sorting out my craft room one day and come across an image that I must of coloured about 5 years ago, so I teamed it up with the Wild At Heart, First Edition Pad.  I'm glad I found it now as I really like how it turned out.

This next card is a really simple card, but quite striking I think. The papers were from the Black Out pad from First Edition and the balloon die is from Dovecraft.

I hope this has given you a little bit of inspiration to get making cards for the men in your life, who can be quite tricky to cater for on the card front.

Happy crafting
